Classes are located across South Manchester and we also provide classes as part of the curriculum and extended after school programs in schools and colleges.
The Academy here in Manchester is run by Stephen Sijuwade, Amir Karimi and other senior students. The academy has many affiliations.
For seniors and adults, the academy focuses on self-defense, fitness training and personal development. We teach in a friendly environment which allows people of all ages to come and enjoy the benefits of martial arts. Classes place emphasis on street self-defense and geared to enhance self awareness, confidence and coordination
Ho Shin Do Youth Project is impactful, self help, community based and action oriented initiative providing support to the youth from under-developed communities in Manchester. The project is coordinated by Stephen Sijuwade with the assistance of his senior students.
We aim to raise the aspirations and achievements of youths by motivating them to maximise their personal potential by training them to be productive and be responsible leaders of tomorrow. The core objectives of our youth project are to empower youths of various backgrounds using martial arts and other leisure and recreational activities as engaging tools. Although classes are based on self defence and fitness emphasis is based on discipline, confidence, mental and physical coordination, respect, courtesy, patience, In general all aspects of character development.
Our activities and objectives focuses on ensuring that all youths have equal opportunity to benefit from the classes. We believe that martial art training is a key to unlocking the potential of youths, instilling a sense of responsibility, discipline and empowerment which could be used as a tool to tackle to anti-social behaviour, truancy, bullying, and gun/ knife culture in our societies.
Our organisation currently provides classes in south Manchester allowing children and adults to enjoy the benefits of martial arts. The classes provide sustained participation, improved knowledge skills base, self esteem and social skills. The classes reduce the opportunity to participate in negative, disengaging behaviour in the community. The organisation provides skills to last them a life time.
